Michael’s promotion is a testimony to the significant contribution he has consistently made to his clients and THM. Michael is a senior restructuring professional with experience of advising corporates, investors and creditors in stressed and distressed situations across a number of jurisdictions, including the UK, Austria, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Slovakia and the United States.

Michael has considerable experience working alongside management teams and boards of companies to provide hands-on support and advice through complex restructurings, refinancings and special situations. Specific expertise includes cash management, conducting business reviews, strategic and business planning, options analysis and contingency planning, project and stakeholder management, leading negotiations and board governance.

Michael is an FCA and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2002.

  • Financial Adviser to Apcoa Parking, the pan-European car park operator, to negotiate and implement the financial restructuring of its €800 million of debt.
  • Adviser to the majority creditor, a UK Public body, on the restructuring of a $0.6 billion insolvent Luxembourg incorporated securitisation vehicle.
  • Financial Adviser to the board of Iceland's leading telecoms business to refinance its bank debt.
  • Providing cash management for Almatis, a leading global manufacturer of alumina, as part of its $1 billion debt restructuring.
