Major Experiences

Prior to joining Talbot Hughes McKillop in 2005, David was Group Managing Director of TUI’s Specialist Holidays Group.

He has extensive experience in various management positions, with two years as Group MD driving strategic change, and 11 years as a Finance Director encompassing a successful MBO, a number of acquisitions and disposals, and extensive integration and change management activity arising from the integration of acquired businesses.

Major Recent Projects

  • Ongoing delivery of restructuring solutions to c£116 million portfolio of Enterprise Zone loan investments.
  • Operational financial and restructuring support at Quinn group, an Irish conglomerate with €1.3 billion of debt, a complex group structure and significant regulatory issues.
  • Financial restructuring support, focused on cash management and reporting, to European Directories through its c€1.6 billion debt refinancing.
  • Acting Finance Director for Teesside Power Limited, operator of a 1875 MW Closed Cycle Gas Turbine power station, through a significant business reorganisation and sale process lasting 18 months:
    • Responsibilities including management presentations to bidders, co­-ordination of pre-completion restructuring and preparation of completion accounts.
    • Implementation of new reporting and performance review process.
    • Transition of previously outsourced finance function into the business.
  • Co-ordination of reorganisation of the Italian Group of Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, including disposal of Forte Village, during the £2.1 billion financial restructuring.
  • Review of planning, reporting and forecasting practices and procedures in a leisure sector services business.
  • Co­-ordination of crisis cash management in a business manufacturing metal products.
