Paul is Managing Partner of Talbot Hughes McKillop. For more than 25 years, Paul has advised companies and their lenders and other stakeholders in distressed situations. In recent years he has worked on many large, complex, international restructurings across a wide range of industries.

Major Experiences
Paul joined Talbot Hughes McKillop in April 2004. Prior to that he spent 18 years at Andersen where he was latterly Lead Partner in Andersen’s UK Restructuring practice.
Major Recent Projects
- Non Executive Director of Alliance Medical Group through its financial and operational restructuring (ongoing).
- Adviser to the Board of a private equity owned European group of hotels with total debt of approximately £0.5 billion. The restructuring involved a significant debt to equity swap.
- Adviser to a UK Public Body as a significant stakeholder in the £2.7 billion financial restructuring of a financial services group.
- Joint CRO of Exista, an Icelandic holding company focused on financial services and telecommunications, during the restructuring of a group with in excess of €2 billion of debt.
- Joint CRO of Bakkavör hf, the Icelandic holding company of an international freshly prepared foods business with sales of £1.6 billion and debt of £1 billion. A complex financial restructuring was achieved using Composition (Icelandic Scheme of Arrangement).
- Adviser to the board of Eimskip, an Icelandic shipping and transportation business, during the restructuring of €1.6 billion of debt.
- Adviser to the private equity sponsor in the restructuring of Samsonite, the global luggage business.
- Adviser to the board of a major UK furniture retailer in the lead up to an MBO, with workstreams including improving forecasting and developing and implementing working capital improvement initiatives.
- Adviser to the Board of Teesside Power Limited, a €1 billion energy generation business, during an 18 month commercial restructuring, leading to a sale of the company.
- Adviser to the Board of SMG plc in the restructuring of its £215 million bank and private placement borrowings.
- Acting as CRO of Biofuels Corporation plc in a nine month project to get the business to first commercial production and profitable trading.
